MARKETFLOW

FAQ

Answers about MarketFlow setup, rules, redirects, plans, analytics, privacy, and troubleshooting.

v0.5.29
What does MarketFlow do?

MarketFlow is built for cross-border stores using multiple SHOPLINE Markets. It combines Market Notice and Country Redirect so merchants can show market-specific messaging and guide visitors to an appropriate SHOPLINE Market or custom URL based on country/region, current market, language, device, page, and schedule.

What is the difference between Market Notice and Country Redirect?

Market Notice shows storefront messages such as shipping, duties, promotions, or returns information. Country Redirect recommends or routes visitors based on visitor country/region and current SHOPLINE Market, including automatic redirects and regional access controls.

How do I enable MarketFlow on my storefront?

After configuring rules, use the “Enable in theme” guidance in MarketFlow to open the SHOPLINE theme editor. Enable MarketFlow under App embeds and save the published theme. No manual theme code editing is required.

Why is a saved rule not showing on the storefront?

Check that the rule is enabled, its schedule is active, market/country/language/device/page conditions match, it is not shadowed by a higher-priority rule, the MarketFlow App Embed is enabled in the published theme, and the current plan has enough active-rule allowance. Use the rule tester to see which condition passes or fails.

What can I target with Market Notice?

Rules can target SHOPLINE Market, country/region, storefront language, desktop/mobile/tablet, page type, schedule, and priority. Notices can be displayed as top bars, bottom bars, or floating notices.

Which Country Redirect experiences are supported?

MarketFlow supports branded popups, top/bottom banners, automatic redirects, and regional access blocking. SHOPLINE Market destinations use the market URL and currency; custom URL destinations open the full URL entered by the merchant.

How does location recognition work, and does MarketFlow store IP addresses?

In production, MarketFlow prefers a trusted edge-provided two-letter country/region code. MarketFlow Analytics records do not store full IP addresses. If country/region cannot be recognized reliably, Country Redirect safely skips instead of guessing.

How does MarketFlow prevent redirect loops?

MarketFlow checks the current market, destination market, and recent redirect hops. It uses short-lived sessionStorage state to prevent repeated redirects, and a SHOPLINE Market rule does not run when the visitor is already on the target market.

What is the difference between “Stay here” and closing the popup?

“Stay here” saves the visitor preference according to the merchant’s repeat-prompt setting. Closing with × only dismisses the current popup and does not save a long-term “Stay here” choice.

Can I test rules without affecting real shoppers?

Yes. Both modules include rule testing, and Country Redirect provides a secure storefront preview using a short-lived signed token. Preview and theme-editor visits are excluded from production Analytics.

What does Analytics collect?

Market Notice reports impressions, unique visitors, button clicks, and dismissals. Country Redirect reports recommendations, accepted redirects, automatic redirects, stays, blocks, and aggregated country/region performance. Analytics uses an anonymous/pseudonymous visitor ID and does not store shopper names, email addresses, or full IP addresses.

What are the Free, Growth, and Pro limits?

Free includes up to 1 active Market Notice rule and 1 active Country Redirect rule with 7 days of Analytics. Growth includes up to 5 active Market Notice rules and 5 active Country Redirect rules with 30 days of Analytics at US$5.99/month. Pro includes up to 15 active Market Notice rules and 15 active Country Redirect rules with 180 days of Analytics at US$9.99/month plus priority support. Final pricing is shown by SHOPLINE at checkout.

How does the 7-day trial work?

Growth and Pro trial eligibility is controlled by SHOPLINE, and each merchant receives only one trial opportunity for the app. If a merchant chooses Free on the initial SHOPLINE plan page instead of starting a paid-plan trial, SHOPLINE may no longer offer that one-time trial later. MarketFlow shows the trial badge only when SHOPLINE still reports the trial as available.

How do I upgrade?

Use the paid upgrade button in MarketFlow to request a secure SHOPLINE checkout link for that plan, or choose “Manage plan on SHOPLINE” to open the native SHOPLINE plan page. SHOPLINE determines the final price, proration, and activation.

How do I downgrade?

Downgrades are completed on the SHOPLINE plan page. Under SHOPLINE plan rules, a downgrade generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so MarketFlow keeps the current higher-tier entitlements until the switch occurs.

Will rules be deleted if I downgrade below my current usage?

No. Saved rules are kept. Only the highest-priority enabled rules within the new plan allowance continue running; rules above the allowance are paused rather than deleted and can resume after upgrading.

How can I get troubleshooting information?

MarketFlow provides a merchant-readable support diagnostic report with app status, rule summaries, and recent storefront checks. It excludes visitor IDs, full IP addresses, login credentials, and full page URLs. Send that report with a description of the issue to MarketFlow support.

What happens to my data after uninstall?

MarketFlow removes the store access token after uninstall and stops normal app access. When SHOPLINE later sends the store data deletion Webhook, MarketFlow deletes that store’s rules, Analytics, diagnostics, subscription data, and related records.

Where can I read the Privacy Policy?

Use the Privacy link at the top of this page. The English policy is available at /privacy/en and the Simplified Chinese policy at /privacy/zh.
